We started our son’s fourth grade year with a bang by visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton! Our kids love exploring National Parks! Did you know that students in fourth grade (or homeschool equivalent) get a free annual pass to visit US National Parks? The fourth grade pass grants your child and accompanying family members free entrance to over 2000 recreational sites, including parks, forests, waters, wildlife refuges, and historical sites. Applying for your child’s pass is easy. Simply visit everykidoutdoors.gov and have your child complete the short activity. To protect your child’s privacy, the site does not require any personal information — just your US zip code. Print the paper voucher, and take it with you to any participating site. They will exchange your voucher for a pass your child can use from September 1st until the following August 31st. Now that we have our pass for this year, we’re off to see how many places we can explore!
