In addition to learning how to bake sourdough bread and doing sidewalk chalk art, I’ve been using my extra “at home” time during this pandemic to create science courses for grades 1 through 3! My courses are part of the phenomenal Ron Paul Curriculum, a complete online homeschool curriculum for 1st through 12th grade. Previously, RPC only offered reading and mathematics for the younger grades. This recent expansion now includes literature, social studies, and my new science courses!
What makes the RPC different from other homeschool programs? I’m glad you asked…
Self-Taught Curriculum
The Ron Paul Curriculum is designed to be a self-taught homeschool curriculum. Students watch the videos for each lesson and complete the included activities. Parents watch along with their younger children, but by fourth grade, RPC courses can be completed by the student independently. This approach teaches students to be self-motivating and take ownership of their education, preparing them well for college and adulthood. It also means that if you are working from home, you have a homeschooling option your child can work through independently!
Writing Focused
Beginning in fourth grade, the Ron Paul Curriculum puts a heavy focus on developing students as writers. Through weekly essays across the curriculum, students constantly hone their composition skills. Effective writing is one of the most important skills for adults to have in any career field. This curriculum begins early to build the foundation for a lifetime of writing.
Beat Homeschool Burnout
Burnout is a major obstacle for homeschool parents. Planning and teaching daily lessons can be overwhelming, especially for parents with multiple children. By getting your family a subscription to the Ron Paul Curriculum, you save all of the time and stress of reinventing the wheel. The course creators have done the research, created the lessons, and delivered them to you, giving you the time you need to focus on family life, extra-curricular activities, and quality time together.
College Prep and Life Prep
The rigorous high school program in the Ron Paul Curriculum includes two years of Western Civilization, two years of Western literature, and American history and literature courses that are aligned with each other. High school mathematics courses go up through Calculus. Students can also prepare for AP exams and CLEP exams to earn college credit. Additionally, RPC offers courses in personal finance, entrepreneurship, and public speaking. Click here for a complete list of course offerings.
Whether you are just jumping into homeschooling or an experienced homeschooler looking for a better way, the Ron Paul Curriculum can give you and your family a freedom and flexibility you won’t find with any other curriculum.
