We have committed to something that might be a bit crazy. Come next June, we are taking both of our boys — ages 1 and 3 — to Olympic National Park for a week.
My husband and I love hiking and exploring in the National Parks, but since having kids, we have not been bold enough to try such a trip with little ones in tow. However, we want to make a family habit out of enjoying the outdoors together, and our older son is big enough for fairly long walks and outdoor activities such as bird-watching and trying to spot wild animals. I am hoping we get some premium tide pool exploration in as well.
And our younger son is still little enough to carry.
I’m not too worried about our actual time in the park, but the cross-country flight has got me nervous. We have never flown with either of our kids before.
What’s the biggest trip you’ve done with little kids? Any advice?
