Epiphany

Yes, our tree is still up.

We leave it up for the entire twelve day feast of Christmas, from December 25th through January 5th, and take it down after our church observes the Nativity of Christ, on January 6th.  This feast day, also called Epiphany, commemorates the arrival of the Magi and the revelation of Jesus’ divinity.

In the Armenian church, we greet each other on this day with the phrase: Krisdos dzunav yev haydnetsav!  Christ is born and revealed!

And the response: Orhnyal eh haydnootyoonun Krisdosi!  Blessed is the revelation of Christ!

May your home and your family be blessed today by the One who brings light into our darkness.

we have seen his star
